Frequently asked questions

  • Each day, our campers eat three filling and nutritious meals with plenty of snacks in between!

At least two meals will take place in our dedicated dining hall at their respective meal times. All of our meals are prepared by a dedicated kitchen staff and planned by our director, Catherine Holland – a registered dietitian! We work hard to accommodate any and all dietary needs/ restrictions whether by choice or by need due to allergies. If your child does have dietary needs please reach out to our leadership team to ensure we can meet those needs appropriately!

  • All of our staff are given training specific to administering medication. Your camper will have counselors specifically assigned to them to take care of all their needs including medications. These medications will be kept with counselors in a safe location and administered as prescribed.

  • Campers will sleep in large canvas wall tents. These tents are located in our Adventure Bases!

  • Our $250 deposit is non-refundable. All other payments are refundable up to 21 days before the first day of camp.

  • We are an electronics free camp. Your child will turn in any electronics they bring to program staff at the beginning of camp, receiving them again at the end of the week. Parents will receive a mid-week camp update including pictures and a short description of the activities your child is involved in!

Remember, no news is good news! In the event of an emergency situation, parents will be contacted by our program staff by phone.

  • We believe that community building is a proactive endeavor, instead of a passive benefit of camp activities. We actively work to provide kids with an environment free of exclusion and cliques to ensure that they don’t miss out on the beauty of making new friends at camp. Our counselors are trained in weeding out exclusive behaviors and habits in order to build a tight knit, inclusive community of campers!

  • Safety is our top priority at Camp New Fork. There will always be a certified Wilderness First Responder (WFR) or Wilderness First Aid (WFA) provider on-site.

Each group will have a fully stocked first aid kit and essential drug kit, and all counselors are medically trained to handle emergencies.

Additionally, we are equipped with satellite phones and Personal Locator Beacons (PLBs) to ensure reliable communication in remote areas. These precautions help us provide a safe and secure environment for all campers.
